Interim Pastor

Pastor Bill has been hired by the Session of Northminster Church to help prepare the way for the next installed pastor. Over the past 20-some years, he has served as an interim pastor for a dozen churches in Western and Central Pennsylvania from Warren, to Lewistown, to Murrysville, to Ellwood City.

For the past 24 years, Rev. Andrew Jillson served as pastor of Northminster, and for the 31 years prior that Rev. John Sloat was pastor. Pastor Bill is here to help the congregation move toward another long and productive pastorate.

Pastor Bill is a native of Western Pennsylvania. He grew up in Evans City, graduated from Seneca Valley High School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. After working for a few years at research and development lab in Washington D.C., he attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he met his wife, Rev. Mary Marks King.

Pastor Bill lives in Cowansville, PA, where his wife has been the pastor of Union First Presbyterian Church since 1979. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include music, computers, astronomy, and HO trains with the grandchildren.
