Interim Pastor

I will begin my service as interim pastor for Northminster Church on July 1, and I am looking forward to meeting the members of the congregation. Over the next few months, I hope to share some details of my work while among you. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

For most of the past 20-some years, I have worked as an interim pastor in Kiskiminetas, Beaver-Butler, Lake Erie, Huntingdon, and Shenango Presbyteries. My last interim was in Redstone Presbytery at First Presbyterian Church, Murrysville. One of the special joys of interim ministry is meeting so many good folk serving Jesus Christ through their congregation. Even though we do have our problems, I can testify that God is alive and active in the Presbyterian Church. I am eager to hear how God has been at work in your congregation, and I am excited about helping you prepare the way for calling a new pastor.

My wife Mary and I live in Cowansville where she has been the pastor of Union First Presbyterian Church since 1979. Our son Tim is a graduate of Penn State and is working as a nuclear engineer for Bechtel in Monroeville. His wife Emily teaches music in the Armstrong School District. They have two children. Caden will be 5 years old this month, and Jocelyn is 3 years old. Our daughter Gloria and her husband Geoff met while marching with the Penn State Blue Band. They are both engineers and work in the Washington, D. C. area.

A graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, I briefly pursued post-graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh. My undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering from Bucknell University. After college, I worked for awhile at a government research lab near Washington, D.C. On a personal note, I have a passion for HO trains with the grandchildren, music, computers, and astronomy.

You may reach me by calling church office (724-658-9051). My email address is pastorbill@npcnc.org. I will usually be in the office or community on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Please let me know when a church member is in the hospital or in need of pastoral care. In case of an emergency, please call my home phone.

In Christ’s service,

Pastor Bill
