WORSHIP FOR May 3, 2020

Welcome and Introduction

Opening Prayer/Call to Worship by Christine Longhurst, for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank

Praise be to God, who rescues us from the power of darkness; who redeems us, and sets us free!

Praise be to Jesus Christ, the first born of all creation, through whom all things were made, in heaven and on the earth.

Praise be to the Spirit of God, whose presence sustains us, and whose breath renews all creation.

Behold! I am making all things new! Come, O God, and make your home among us.

Pour out your Spirit and renew the face of the earth. Amen.

Hymn- Be Thou My Vision

1 Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;

naught be all else to me, save that thou art--

thou my best thought by day or by night,

waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

2 Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word;

I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord;

thou my great Father, I thy true son;

thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one.

3 Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,

thou mine inheritance, now and always:

thou and thou only, first in my heart,

High King of heaven, my treasure thou art.

4 High King of heaven, my victory won,

may I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'n's Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

Worship with Tithes & Offerings

Thanks again to everyone who is giving online or sending in your tithe. We appreciate your faithfulness through this time.

Hymn- Amazing Grace

1 Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now am found

Was blind but now I see

2 T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear

And Grace, my fears relieved

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed

3 The Lord has promised good to me

His word my hope secures

He will my shield and portion be

As long as life endures.

4 Through many dangers, toils and snares

We have already come

T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far

And Grace will lead us home

5 When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise

Than when we first begun.

What has been your experiences with Revelation and discussions about the end times?

What have you learned as we have looked at the entire story of the Bible?

In what ways have you felt and experienced the “now and not yet” of the story?

What about the coming of Christ do you look forward to most? What of your past would do you long to be renewed?
